In my last year at the University of Washington, I had the privilege of participating in a design exchange between the UW and China’s Tsinghua University. The charge for designers at both schools was to design a poster in two languages on the topic of water. My poster addressed the effects of hydroelectric dams that produce electricity for modern consumer goods but at great cost to the salmon populations of Pacific Northwest rivers.
